Thank you so much for choosing an Imaginative Mural for your interior decor. With this mural, I have tried to create a sophisticated yet charming scene. When coming up with ideas for murals, I try to think of places I would like to see from my window. Imagine coming home to your apartment and relaxing on your private terrace overlooking the park and being surrounded with beautiful plants (that you don't have to water!). In the City will add color to your room and create an interesting conversation piece.
Painted in trompe l'oeil (deceive the eye) style developed centuries ago and popular again today, In the City will transform the space in which it hangs. The mural will work well in several types of rooms. I like the idea of placing it in an eating area. Have fun adding decorative touches such as colorful dishes with hand-painted floral designs. Mix textures like woven rugs, glazed pottery and baskets. Cover the table with an interesting cloth. It doesn't have to be a table cloth. Recently, at a party, I saw a table topped with a quilted white bedspread. Placemats come in a variety of textures and colors and offer an easy quick change for decor. Consider a simple centerpiece of tulips like the one in the painting or create your own. Set a decorative watering can under a table or in the corner with a pair of gardening gloves on top or use it as a planter. A set of botanical prints can further enhance the walls.
In the bedroom, you can play up the floral theme of the mural or simply treat the painting like a real window. The inside of a room isn't normally decorated to match the outdoors so decorate your room however you like. If the room needs to be softened with fabric, hang drapes on either side of the window or create a decorative window treatment to enhance the illusion of a window. Complementary pillows in solids and prints also help add color and texture.
Decorative accessories are so abundant you will have no problem building a cohesive look. As for the walls, this mural will go with about any color you choose or presently have. Faux painting is a lot of fun if you like do-it-yourself projects. Check your local stores on books featuring faux finishing techniques. You may just want to add a decorative border. Select one of many wallpaper borders on the market or even design your own with stencils or stamps.
If the painting needs to hang on a rough wall, simply mount it to masonite, matboard, or foamcore using adhesive like our EZ Up & Off Spray Adhesive. Lightweight foamcore comes with black and white cores. If you can't find black, tape the edges of the white with dark tape so they blend with the mural. Don't use paint, it will dissolve the foam. You then have several options for attaching the painting to the wall. Visit a home center or frame shop for ideas.
Have fun decorating and remember to surround yourself with items that you love. I'm sure you'll come up with a lot of ideas of your own. We would love to hear from you. Feel free to call or write.
Sincerely,
