Our Story,

Imaginative MuralsTM are beautiful, printed wall murals spanning many catagories. The artist, Trisha Selgrath, conceived of the idea for painted wall murals in her studio while her children were young then have them printed thereby giving her customers more detailed murals than she could do in their homes for a much more affordable price. They just look expensive creating a dramatic focal point in a room and an instant conversation piece. Most of the wall murals were originally painted full size with lots of attention paid to color and details in oil paints on canvas or wood. For the Imaginative Murals line, the art is printed with offset lithography then die-cut which means only the image remains and is ready to hang on the wall. These murals can be adhered with either wallpaper adhesive for a permanent bond or spray adhesive for a temporary bond. The Focal Point MuralsTM line consists of wallpaper murals printed on our EZ Up & Off substrateTM. This allows you to just wet and stick them to the wall and when it comes time to remove them, simply loosen a corner and pull to easily remove the mural.

We have great kids murals which includes: a dance collage called the Ballet Mural; the jungle murals called Animal Diversity; a fantasy princess theme in Castle Windows; active sports wall murals called Team Sports which is a collage that includes baseball, football, hockey, basketball and soccer that is also great for family rooms; the Under the Sea Mural depicts fish and ocean creatures that delights both young and old; the Garden View scenic wall mural is sophisticated for adults yet colorful enough to create a secret garden theme for children and we have many colorful, little mural appliques in the Re-definedTM catagory that can be mixed and matched. Most themed murals come with additional smaller mural pieces that can be scattered throughout the room to support the theme. The Under the Sea mural has been so popular that we added an additional packet of fish. In addition to the children's murals that we have presented on this website, we have the ability to do originals designed especially for you. Also, any of our murals can be resized and custom printed digitally on wallpaper or canvas to meet your room specifications.

Most Imaginative Murals are designed with more sophisticated decor in mind. Trish Selgrath, comments," I started with children's themes but quickly added designs that would allow me to explore all the decorating styles I like". For instance, the Mediterranean Villas Wall Mural was inspired by a trip to Italy. It merges images from several photographs taken by the artist of the northwestern coast. The Oriental Niches Wall Murals reflect Trisha's love for Asian design and philosophy while the American West cowboy mural celebrates the beauty of the US National Parks. The Bay Window Mural uses faux painting techniques to achieve an aged, crackeled look on the trompe l'oeil style window which frames a seascape with a lighthouse in the distance. The Garden View Mural and Marble Shell Niche highlight the artist's love of classical architecture and flowers . . . lots of flowers. More recently, Trish painted The Vineyard Wall Mural which depicts the golden sunlight on the gardens and hills seen during a trip to Napa Valley. In the Stone Bridge Garden Mural, the artist used an energetic, impressionistic technique to render the foliage and a modern stone footbridge crosses the water feature. This mural is a triptych meaning it has two side panels with faux leaded glass and one, larger center panel. For those who prefer urban environments, the In the City Wall Mural looks out to your penthouse garden overlooking the park with tall buildings in the background. Trish will be adding many more scenes to the Focal Points line which can be printed any size you want on environmentally friendly wallpaper.

Trish Selgrath started RTZ Company, Inc. along with her husband Randy Selgrath in 1999. Trish reflects,"It wasn't easy launching a company and a family at the same time but having our own business allowed us to be with our children and juggle the day-to-day business demands." Randy adds,"Now with our youngest in elementary school, we can focus more time on the business and are planning growth in several areas."

Trish explains why she is so excited about her new line of inspirational quotes and art called Re-defined for Life. " When I turned 40, I decided that I wanted to create art that would be very meaningful to people. So I prayed, meditated and asked God to guide me so that I might use my talent for service. Very different creative ideas and designs began to emerge. One day during meditation, words and their meanings flooded my head. I had to grab paper and pencil and begin to write. The words were motivational while the meanings were poetic and inspirational. It was as if they were flowing through me. Within a few minutes, I had filled two sheets of paper front and back. After that very spiritual experience, I would make time to get quiet and let the words flow. I now have almost 200 definitions! When I put my ego aside and opened myself up, I wasn't expecting words or definitions and it wasn't something that I was actively trying to do. So when they came, I knew that it was my duty to share them with the world. Ironically, the hard part was coming up with an artistic style that would express the meanings and remain universal. It took me almost a year to develop a new, unique style that was as colorful and uplifting as the words. It is abstract because I wanted to show people without defining superficial features. Our society already focuses so much on external beauty that I wanted to celebrate inner beauty. The characters embody the intention of our spirits. Re-defined is motivational, inspirational and transformational. The "R" in Re-defined is a butterfly symbolizing metamorphosis of the spirit during its journey. I have really enjoyed designing the abstract art, but I realize that modern art is not everyone's "cup of tea" so I will also pair the definitions with more traditional art. I feel so fortunate to have been entrusted with these messages and to be able to incorporate them with my art."

Re-defined for Life will cover many different catagories and price points from a couple of dollars for a card to hundreds of dollars for large, original art. Trish has already designed hundreds of items using these inspired themes and will be rolling them out for years to come. RTZ Company plans many fundraisers for charities and will roll out those programs in the future. Trish exclaims, " I feel that everything that I have done prior to this collection including all my successes and failures prepared me for this collection. I am using my artistic talent and doing meaningful work that can help people. I now have a worthy legacy."
